a. Description

The 3 result sequences contained in this video file illustrate the
space-time "a contrario" clustering for the detection of coherent
motions.

The first sequence displays a pedestrian walking to the left. The
camera is hand-held and is tracking the pedestrian. The local
trajectory detection method is applied on succesive 10 frame-long
video segments. The upper body part of the pedestrian is detected as
a coherent motion when it is fully visible or partially occluded by
the trees. Parasitical motions of the bushes and trees due to the wind
are not detected.
The red or yellow rectangles indicates the spatial position of the
clustered local motion measurements. The color indicates the
confidence in the detection : yellow for high confidence (5 <=
-log(NFA) <10 red for very high confidence (-log(NFA)
> 10).The blue arrow corresponds to the average motion of
the grouped local motion measurements.

The second sequence illutrates the ability of the detection method to
group local motion measures belonging to an object undergoing an
occlusion.
The scene figures two pedestrians crossing each other
The camera is hand-held an tracking the occluded pedestrian.
The colored dots (red and green) correspond to the two detected coherent motion patterns.

The third sequence presents several cars at crossroads. The camera is
hand-held and panning to the left.
The rectangle enclosing the detected moving objects corresponds to the
region containing the initial positions of the clustered local motion
measurements.
The color of the rectangle reflects the confidence in the detection:
- blue (low condidence): -log(NFA) < 1
- greeen (moderate confidence):  1 <= -log(NFA) <5
- yellow  (high confidence):  5<= -log(NFA)< 10
- red (very high confidence): -log(NFA)>=10

The blue arrow indicates the mean displacement of each cluster.

The cyan line corresponds to the local trajectory the moving object is following.
