Abstract
E-marketplace activities can normally be represented as how the user requirements and preferences can be matched against a set of offerings. One issue of the above environment is the semantic consistency maintenance. We solve this problem by using XPM Schema of collaborative concept to represent semantically consistent business concepts. On the other hand, we establish one schema that can represent the XPM in rule-based syntax called RuleXPM Schema. It can represent the defeasible rule and preference relations. Eventually, we adopt defeasible logic to reason with rule and preference, and we propose the novel approach - RuleXPM Inference Engine and RuleXPM Inference Algorithm to infer the next activities from the received activities.
