Abstract
Although ITS and telematics services are not yet mature, vehicular wireless communication for emergency or informational event notification are some of the important usage being considered. DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) equipment is under development up to now, and WAVE (Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment) is one of the many DSRC standards that is currently being standardized. This paperintroduces our demonstration system in telematics. First, weintroduce demonstration system architecture and equipments. Secondly, we introduce Congestion Avoidance System (CAS) and Emergency Alert System (EAS). The telematics' field-trial demonstration system is composed of vehicle (OBU), RSU and LTS. This demonstration system uses the WAVE short message protocol (WSMP) to send traffic information between vehicle and road-side unit (V2R). It also use WSMP to send alert picture and message from vehicle to vehicle (V2V). The software architecture and demonstration scenarios of this system are also shown below.
