Abstract
Electro-magnetic Detection Satellite(EDS) is a kind of Earth Observation Satellites (EOSs) which has been used widely in industry and military, different from imagery satellites, the detecting duration is an imprecise parameter because of the uncertain electro-magnetic environment surrounding the target. It makes the task scheduling of EDS becomes a complex combinatorial optimization problem. On account of these special properties, we use fuzzy set and possibility theory to model these imprecise parameters, other physical constraints, like on-board energy and transition time needed between different working patterns, are also considered in the model. We proposed an improved genetic algorithm to solve this problem by introducing new parents selection method. The model and the algorithm have been tested by four experiments based on the data from Satellite toolkit's data base.
