Abstract
Based on the Asia Gateway Framework put forward by Japanese Government, Japanese local airports have been deregulated and airline companies including foreign carriers can freely decide to enter into and withdraw from the market. With this deregulation, some international airlines connecting Japanese local airport to overseas, are under risk of discontinuous decision by the carrier company. This study tries to analyze the cause of the risk, and then clarify the effective supporting policies by the Japanese local government. The analyses focus on the case of Yonago Airport of Tottori Prefecture and its international flight operated by the Korean airway company.
