Motivation: The Problems in 3D Animation are quite easy, since a correspondence is known. However, for the data from actual cameras or 3D scanner, the correspondence information is unknown, which demands an alignment algorithm, and we introduce the interative closest points(ICP) for solving this problem.

Weighted ICP: The weights assigned for each points indicate the distance from that point to the closest point in the model, which also implies a different motion happened to that point.

For two frames from Dance sequence, a certain motion has been made.

A matching after ICP.

Points with a low weights.

The articulated motion, where blue part is from the points with a low weight. (A certain threshold has been set to define this 'low')
